Lawyer insists dismissed Mandaue mayor violated election law

CEBU CITY, Philippines— Lawyer Ervin Estandarte insisted that dismissed Mandaue City Mayor Jonas Cortes’ failure to disclose his pending dismissal case on his certificate of candidacy (COC) for his reelection was a violation of the election law. Earlier, Estandarte, a resident of Barangay Pagsabungan, Mandaue City, filed a disqualification petition against Cortes before the Commission
